Hasselblad has released Phocus 2.9, the latest version of its free software for Mac and Windows. The major new feature is support for closed loop colour calibration. Users can create a colour calibration made using the exact lightning setup used for the shoot and apply this directly to the raw camera data.
There’s a new Colour Calibration pop-up menu with an Edit option, which can automatically create a calibration that you can then finetune. You’ll need a calibration chart like the X-Rite Color Checker, with the standard, SG and DC versions all supported.
There’s also a Scene Calibration tool, which allows you to set a white balance, based on the ambient lighting, and which you can use to fine tune an image.
