Adobe has said that the next Camera Raw update, v9.1.1, is to be the last one to support Photoshop CS6. Future updates will only apply to the Creative Cloud software. DxO has updated its Optics Pro Raw file converter to v10.3. This now gains a new search engine to the Source Browser used to find folders on your computer. The Mac OS X version can now open those folders by drag and dropping them into the Image Browser. DxO has also tweaked the Horizon slider and Dust tool to make them easier to use.
DxO has been steadily adding support for a growing list of cameras and with this release it now supports the Nikon D5500, Canon PowerShot SX60 HS and Olympus Pen EPL7.
Optics is highly regarded for the quality of its raw conversions and this is partly because it carries individual profiles not only for cameras but for combinations of cameras and lenses and this release gains a further 422 more of these. There’s a total of 23,000 lens/ camera combination profiles already.
DxO has also updated its FilmPack 5.1.1 and ViewPoint 2.5.3 with support for the new cameras.
