Xara has released the latest version of its creative design and photo editing software, Xara Photo and Graphic Designer v11, though most of the new features seem to be around vector design rather than photo editing.
The Brush Tool has been updated with new Art Brush technology that smoothly stretches either vector or bitmap, in real time, along a freehand drawn line. It includes a range of realistic textured brush effects emulating paint, chalk and water-color effects. Users can create their own bitmap (photo) or vector brush designs.
It also includes new vector shape editing tools, improved text editing and improvements to the PDF import and export.
On the photo editing side, it includes Photolooks 2, a flexible plug-in that can change the colour and light effects in a photo. It includes over 100 presets, and users can create their own custom effects. It also comes with a year’s subscription to the Premium version of Magix Online Photo Album. It can also now sync files with Dropbox and Google Drive. It works on Windows Vista 7 / 8 / 8.1.
It costs £49.99 (inc VAT) for UK and €69.99 (inc VAT) for the EU.
This release follows the recent update to Xara’s web editing program.
